When it comes to search engines, you need to understand one thing: Google loves signals.
For years, Google has prioritized link authority and domain authority. Every update has reinforced this. But recently, there’s a new player in town: User-Generated Content (UGC).
Platforms like Reddit have skyrocketed in search results. Google’s favoring UGC signals more than ever—up to 1000% more than before.
In this guide, we’ll show you the most effective way to use Reddit, covering:
- Buying upvotes and aged accounts
- Building subreddits
- Finding opportunities
- Getting your links to stick
Let’s dive in.
Why Reddit?
In the recent Google updates Reddit has been the new forbes, they send the right user signals which is now significantly weighted in Google.
As you can see from the screenshot above there is no ranking for over 100 million more keywords within a year. But the significant change is the amount of top 3 spots and SERP features they are winning.
So why Reddit? They rank for massive competitive terms that would cost thousands in ad spend, however, it’s the fact that you can quickly get your comment to the top spot with minimal cost.
You don’t have to build an authority website around the topic, spend years building the brand, and running link building campaigns costing thousands, you can now search on reddit and spend $3 to get most of the organic traffic.

Reddit’s algo is getting tougher to manipulate.
The moderators are getting smarter.
It demands a more refined approach to avoid the common pitfalls.
Below will help you with that…
What you need
- Semrush or Ahrefs – To identify high-traffic Reddit pages with commercial intent.
- Proxy Tools – (optional) AdsPower and proxies from ProxyCheap or similar services.
- Aged Reddit Account – Essential for avoiding restrictions.
- ParasiteSEO.com to find killer products to promote.
- Upvotes – To boost your comments’ visibility and engagement.
Steps to Perform
- Find Reddit pages with commercial intent and good traffic.
- Hide your digital footprint
- Buy or build reddit accounts
- Comment on those pages.
- Add affiliate links.
- Buy upvotes to rank comments.
1. How to Find Reddit Pages?
Open Semrush and type “reddit.com” in the search bar.
Go to “Organic Search Traffic.“
Use “Advanced Filters“, filter by URL and containing the word ‘comment’, then click apply.
Use ‘Filter by keyword’ that matches your niche (e.g., “testosterone”).
After that, filter the results by ‘Search Intent’ and choose with commercial intent (we want to make money).
Open each page to see if you can comment.
Find all the relevant pages where you can comment.
Avoid pages where the posts are archived, this means you can no longer post on them.
OR where comments have been removed by moderators. This usually means your comment might get removed too.
2. Hide your Digital Footprint
It’s best to use a VPN or good proxies for your accounts.
The reason I’ve put this section before building or buying an account, is because most people skip this step… then get their accounts banned.
To alter your online presence, you’ll need Ads Power software (free) or a reliable proxy service. Begin by downloading and installing Ads Power on your device.
Then, you need to link a proxy to this software. I’m using proxy cheap.
I recommend buying a residential static proxy.
The reason for this is you want the IP of the account to always be the same.
Note: *You might want to check the location of the account you’re buying in the next step. 99% of the time it will be US based, so you want a static proxy in the US.
Then pick the time period you prefer.
Congratulations you have a proxy!
These are your proxy details that can be used for Ads Power.
Open Ads Power, and create a new profile.
Apply these modifications:
- Enter a custom identifier of your choice.
- Choose “SunBrower” as your browser.
- Set the “Operating System” to match your current setup. For instance, I’m on Apple, so I’ve selected that option.
- Leave the final three settings at their defaults.
Next, input your proxy details.
- Proxy setting = Custom
- Proxy Type = HTTP
Verify the remaining fields using the information provided by your proxy service.
On proxy cheap you find this on the proxy details.
- Proxy IP:Port (HTTP) = Host:Port
- Username = Proxy username
- Password = Proxy Password
- Public IP =Change IP URL
- Keep “Platform” to None.
- Click “Open a specified URL”
- In the “URL to Open” field, input your comment URL website address. (https://www.www.reddit.com/)
- Select “OK” to finalize the setup.
Open Reddit.
Those are the sets to use proxies and keep your accounts safe.
3. Buy and build Reddit accounts
Let’s dive into account preparation.
There are pros and cons to building and buying reddit accounts.
Buying
- Drawbacks
- Accounts always sold out
- Dodgy history
- Different account locations (IP)
- Can get banned
- Pros
- High Karma = posting straight away
Building
- Drawbacks
- Takes time to build up Karma
- Won’t be able to post in bigger subs until you meet the karma requirement
- Pros
- Get authority in the niches you want to promote
- Set IP from the start
- Pick the name
Buying
You can purchase aged accounts from services like Redaccs.
Remember, buying upvotes is against Reddit’s terms of service and can lead to post removal or account bans, so follow the tips below…
Tips for using aged Reddit accounts with karma:
- Dormant accounts: If the account wasn’t used lately (last couple of weeks), warm it up slowly before posting. Do this like you would with a new account below.
- Recently active accounts: Even if the account was used recently, take it slow if you’re using a new device, proxy, or internet connection.
- Engaging with popular subreddits: Before posting in a big subreddit the account hasn’t interacted in before, spend some time there first. Read posts, like and leave a few comments.
- Activity in smaller communities: It’s usually fine to post in low to medium subreddits (member-wise) as long as the account is warmed up.
Building
Tips for new Reddit accounts:
- Be extra careful with brand new accounts with no age or karma.
- Keep the IP the same when you log into the account from the start.
- For the first few days, just browse Reddit. Join some groups, save and like posts, but don’t comment or post yet.
- Scroll through different subs posts. This helps your account look real to improve the quality score.
- Start posting in smaller or friendly groups, like r/AskReddit.
- If you’re timelimited, stop for the day or wait a few hours before commenting or posting again.
- Big, niche groups might remove your posts at first. This is normal. You need to build up your account first.
- As you get more karma from posts and comments, you’ll be able to post in bigger, niche relevant groups.
How to boost Karma
- You can increase karma pretty fast in subs like “BikiniBottomTwitter” or by posting in dog and cat subreddits. People always upvote pet photos.
- Be active on new posts in your target subreddits to build karma and credibility
- Use eye-catching images, infographics, or videos to grab attention
- Post at optimal times when your target audience is most active
- Use relevant flairs and tags to make your post easily discoverable
- Monitor and respond to comments to keep conversations going
- Engage with the community by commenting on others’ posts and joining discussions
- Trying to get comment karma is much harder. You can create your own subreddits and use bots to interact with posts. This is the best method to boost the comment karma.
Disclaimer: People can discover the connection between accounts if you’re using bots or upvoting each other.
4. Comment on Pages
After you’ve found your targets in the previous step, it’s time to leave comments.
You can use ChatGPT, but there are a few key things to keep in mind:
- Match the tone and length of other comments.
- Double-check your comment reads smoothly and accurately.
- Keep it natural—avoid sounding like you’re pushing a product.
- Touch on both the pro’s and con’s.
Try and create a relatable story, e.g., “I started using a VPN while in Bali to access Netflix. It works pretty well most of the time, I’ve noticed it can be a bit slow but that’s Bali wifi, which can be frustrating.”
Always, focus on a balanced view—mention both the pros and cons of the product or service you’re discussing. This approach builds trust and authenticity.
I’ve included some prompts below to assist you with that.
Example prompts to get you started:
For a Product Review:
- “Write a comment about [product name], mentioning both its strengths and a potential drawback. Make it sound like a personal experience, such as ‘I bought this for a friend.'”
For a Service Recommendation:
- “Draft a comment recommending [service name], highlighting what you liked and one thing that could be improved. Make sure it feels like you’ve personally used the service.”
For a Blog Post Comment:
- “Create a comment responding to a blog post about [topic], ensuring it aligns with the other comments in tone and length. Include a personal anecdote to make it sound genuine. [Insert some examples comments]”
For a Forum Discussion:
- “Write a comment for a forum discussion on [topic], sharing a balanced view of a product or service. Make it seem like you’ve had firsthand experience. Keep it around 50 words, with a low readability score”
These prompts are to do the heavy lifting, but make sure to edit them to get them to the right word length as the other comments on the page.
When I first recognised Reddit smashing the search results in September, I used to just put affiliate links to the products straight into the comments, some of them I didn’t even bother clocking the links.
Times have changed.
Reddit has link karma now.
Which means this algorithm will check your link karma, which is gained from previous posts. Without sufficient link karma, your posts or comments may be suspended immediately.
Which means, avoid linking in your first few comments. Focus on building post and comment karma by engaging naturally for a few days before inserting links.
This creates a balanced mix of content to avoid triggering spam filters.
What I like to do is like and comment for 2-3 days with no agenda, and add all these comments in a Google sheet tracker. You can download it below.
Exciting news! We’ve just rolled out a game-changing feature on ParasiteSEO.com. Now you can easily spot the hottest subreddits in any category. Discover where your comments will make the biggest splash.
Follow these steps.
5. Add Affiliate Links
Hold off on adding affiliate links right away.
Warm up your account by first by liking and commenting for 2-3 days with no agenda.
Then after each comment wait 24 hours before placing affiliate links.
You can do the 1 in 10 rule, and only go back and add affiliate links in every 10th post.
This can avoid triggering spam filters, plus users can check your previous posts and see that your posting affiliate links constantly.
Finding affiliate programs
Most people add Amazon affiliate links in the comments, this can earn a decent bit of money despite the low commissions.
However, you can’t directly add Amazon affiliate links to Reddit comments.
You need to do link cloaking.
Ways to do this:
- Send traffic to a website or lander
- Use a short link
- Create a redirect link
Here’s how:
Use your website. Write content using AI (Cuppa.sh), include your Amazon affiliate links, and then drive traffic from Reddit to your website’s landing page.
Use a short link. Very easy to do, there are multiple free link generators, a popular option is Bitly.com, I like to go for popular options to increase click through rate (CTR).
Create a redirect link. Use an existing website, or buy a relevant domain (that looks good/niche relevant). Create a redirect URL with ‘better links’ so it will be domain/go/short-product-name.
Even if it’s not Amazon, I recommend this in most cases. Check out our ‘What to Promote’ section on ParasiteSEO.com for the highest paying programs, or look at networks like ShareASale or Commission Junction.
You can also find new affiliate programs through sponsored articles on outlookindia for example—You can find the paid parasites that are killing it now, with the parasite seo tool, and reverse engineer popular products that are making money to use for Reddit.
Here are the paid parasites currently ranking in this search result.
Here are the paid parasite opportunities not ranking in this SERP but have a great chance too.
This method is very time consuming, however, you can find products that are running ads on Google—if they’re spending on ads, they likely have an affiliate program too.
You can also use ChatGPT to get a list of affiliate programs specific to your niche (never really accurate).
Pro tip: Instead of adding an affiliate link directly to your comment, write a post on your profile with the affiliate links, and then link to that post in your comment.
5. Buy Upvotes
There are some nuances here.
I’m going to go over what you should do before buying upvotes and how to buy them.
Upvoting accounts can cause bans, which usually happens within around 5 minutes.
Buying upvotes. Don’t rush to buy upvotes after commenting or adding links.
Chill for a day after you comment, then sneak in your links.
Check if your comments are still there or removed by the Moderator.
If the comment is removed. Mark it down in your the Reddit Tracker Google sheet, and try a different page or topic.
If your comment is still there. After adding affiliate links, that’s when you can think about buying upvotes. But only if it survived the 24-hour test.
Now that’s out of the way, I buy upvotes from the upvote.shop.
Here’s how to place the order.
- Click “Manual Order”
- From “Services” select comment upvotes.
- Change speed from “Super Slow” to “Mega Slow”.
- Add your comment URL in “Comment URL”.
- Enter how many upvotes you need. You want to aim for more upvotes than the top post. So, if the best comment has 20 upvotes, get 25.
- Set a delivery time. I usually do 10, 30, or 1 hour.
- Place the order
That’s all the steps you need to start your Reddit empire.
However, being a smart marketer, below are some extra tactics you might enjoy!
Advanced Tactics
Reddit Programmatic Approaches
I’m not going to go into too much detail here, as it’s a full guide by itself.
Here’s what’s possible:
- Bot Networks: Set up a bot network using NodeJS with Puppeteer and Electron desktop applications to automate commenting, upvoting, and downvoting.
- Karma Farming: Spread bot activity across multiple subreddits to avoid detection. Upvote and comment on real posts to diversify bot actions.
Video Embedding and Traffic Generation
- Embedding Videos: Use domains from expired websites that allow direct video embedding on Reddit. This can drive significant traffic if executed correctly.
- Comment Traffic: Post meme videos or animations and link them in comments under trending posts. This can generate high engagement without directly linking to ads.
